How can i stop hair growth?

other than laser and creams...How can i stop hair growth?
UNFORTUNATELY there is no way to stop hair from growing other than laser, but even that is not GUARNTEED, I would try waxing, the more you wax the less the hair grows......

HAPPY WAXING!!How can i stop hair growth?
you can get it waxed or shaved or creamed or plucked but other than that there is no way
well, do u mean u want it to stop growing so itll be that length forever, or u wanna be bald? if u wanna be bald then smoke cigars and ciggerettes,if u want it to stop growing im pretty sure thats psyically impossible
Where is the hair that you're trying to stop it from growing?

I can help if you can be more specific.

Stopping hair growth?

What can make your hair grow slower are even stop it so i can prevent itStopping hair growth?
There is no such things as stopping hair growth. The only thing you can do is to trim it. Have you've tried going short? Maybe the slowest way for you to slow down your hair growth is to cut it short. I mean you're lucky to have hair that grows fast. Many girls would want that.

For me, my hair grow very slow and I try to be patient with it, but I know that it will probably not reach my waist or butt because it grows and usually stop growing when it gets to my shoulder. I have been trying to look for products to make my hair grow thicker and longer, but I don't think there is such a thing. I may not know you, but you should be glad to have what you have. I'm pretty sure you are but know that sometimes it gets in the way huh? That's understandable. So yeah, just get a nice short cut that you like and think will match you like every so often or when you think you should.Stopping hair growth?
Trimming it once a week. You can't make your hair stop growing. tee hee!
um i think its just natural because it still grows after were dead right so its just thre if your like me and have fast growing hair were stuck we just have to get it cut more often
laser hair removal
Besides laser hair removal and electrolysis, Vaniqa is the only product that I know of that will help achieve this. Here is a description:

VANIQA is the first and only prescription cream clinically proven to reduce the growth of unwanted facial hair in women. VANIQA (eflornithine HCl) Cream, 13.9% does not remove hair or replace your current hair removal method. Instead, VANIQA complements it by reducing hair growth. With consistent use twice a day, you should be spending less time removing facial hair.

    Stop hair growth?

i have hair in places i really dont want it.. its really embarassing

and i dont know how to get rid of it.. laser hair removal is so expencive and i just cant afford it... is there any way i can at least make the hair grow slower or thinnerStop hair growth?
Waxing really helps hair grow in slower and thinner, it completely takes out the hair so it will take longer to grow back in, and when it does grow back in, it won't be as thick. Waxing does hurt a bit, but the results are definitely worth it. You can get it done professionally, or just buy an at-home kit from the store and do it yourself.Stop hair growth?
you need to look into electrolysis
get it waxed it will grow in less the more you do it!
    hair removal cream
    waxing lasts longer ! goodluck

if you want your head hair gone that is tough, you'll need to laser it for best results expect like 12-14 treatments that would probably end of costing 1000-2000 dollars but you won't be shaving as much.Stop hair growth?
you cant just stop hair growth..its natural
    okayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

    Olive oil stops hair growth?

    Do you have olive oil?

Do you have hair?................stupidOlive oil stops hair growth?
Lotta hair in Greece.Olive oil stops hair growth?
no it actually helps to strengthen your hairs and grow them well
No my good friend.Alma oil is best known in India. No one oil or product

is best on it's own it is the blend of more than one.Use olive oil, jasmin oil or mustard oil with chameli oil and some grape seed oil if you can find. The most important is diet.Eat as much fruit and salads, drink plenty fresh water, food, fresh air and no stress what so ever.Stress is the biggest problem.Soak 7 almonds over night and drink that water in the morning and peel the skin and chew it very very slowly.Drink milk with this warm with honey.Twice a week take some yogurt add 2 spoons of lemon juice add 1 spoon of honey ,put on the head and leave it 20 minutes and wash.Every time u wash add some lemon juice or vinegar to rinse. You can take multi vitamins and b complex and eat bananas, nuts like sun flower, pine, wall nuts and linseed etc which are so good.but remember it is the diet and nothing else.Do not use very strong shampoo or gel Do not use very hot water and do not rub so hard when wet,Twice a week put 1 spoon of butter or ghee on the scalp and leave it on or wash after one hour.

    So this will work.
no..!!! its not dat.... it conditions your hair and scalp and repairs damage.....

if its not working for you go for some almond oil or try using sesame oil use protein shampoo eat protein rich food.....

    ALL d Best...!! :-D
No. It actually conditions your scalp, which leads to increased hair growth by keeping the follicles healthy.

No, it just makes your hair grow slower.

  • Stopping hair growth?

First of all, I'm a guy. I absolutely hate body hair. All other guys laugh at my preference to have a clean and hairless body(of course not including the hair on your head). I want stop stop body hair growth literally everywhere(besides hair). I've never shaven because the razor blades scare me and I'm also afraid of waxing. I am definetely not considering any expensive surgery or treatment. Is there a product that slows down and stops hair growth and can be used in private parts?Stopping hair growth?
you can get them permanently removed by laser.

Is there any spray/cream that like stops hair growth?

please gimme good answerIs there any spray/cream that like stops hair growth?
Not that stops growth, but removes hair. Go to drug store and get Nair Hair removal cream. They have some for body and another for face. Put it on, wait 5 minutes. wipe off and hair is removed. I think it might be what you want. Good Luck

Bad hair cut stopped hair growth?

For many, many years my dad gave me awful hair cuts. Today I shaved my head and can see visable marks around my head where the hair growth is non exixtant or very thin. There are lines where there is no hair growth and many circles with no hair growth.

Could many years of bad painful haircuts have done this?Bad hair cut stopped hair growth?
Bad haircuts don't have anything to do with your hair falling out or thining (unless he cut it by yanking it out..lol). It's probably genetic if you're young. But it can also be caused by many other things like stress.Bad hair cut stopped hair growth?
Like the first answer a hair cut would have caused this. Perhaps if you scalp was cut accidentally over a period of years in the same few places, this would cause scarring, which may affect the density.
bad harcuts don't affect how your hair grows. Scars can affect how hair grows, or if you have a potential for baldness, but not bad haircuts.
That might have happened, but idk. if you want hair to grow, you should get hair growth shampoo and conditioner.
No you just need to let it grow out and go to Supercuts to get a hair cut!

Does estrogen supplements help to decrease or permanently stop hair growth on the face and neck?

My twin sister is so nervous, she's 18, and she's growing hair on the side of her face (like where a guys sideburns would be but going straight down) she also has some random hairs on her neck, and right above her eyebrows. She never wants to put her hair up voluntarily anymore and she's constantly wearing a turtleneck shirt. She has done some research and she believe it's horomones. Mom says it's because of the fact that she wears her hair down all the time and also it's always in front of her face. Is that true? Or is it just the horomones?Does estrogen supplements help to decrease or permanently stop hair growth on the face and neck?
Iv found taking pueraria mirifica (a phyto-estrogen) has lessened hair growth on my body, besides other benefits such as supporting the secondary female charateristics. Literally have been taking it for a week and four days and am having to shave less often! Its awesome, am raving about on yahoo answers! lol

I hope this will help your sister and im sure it will, it must be a horrible situation to be in for her.Does estrogen supplements help to decrease or permanently stop hair growth on the face and neck?
I agree she may (or may not) have a hormonal imbalance, but taking estrogen probably won't help and will more likely make it worse.

She may have polycystic ovarian syndrome or some other medical problem. Or this may run in the family and/or just be ';her.'; No offense, but I don't think your mother knows what she's talking about.

An endocrinology appointment is a good idea.
She needs to be evaluated by an endocrinologist. It's most likely some hormonal imbalance.

Does breastfeeding stunt hair growth or stop hair growth?

Well i know it is normal to lose or shed quite a bit of hair after childbirth due to the hormones that kept extra hair during pregnancy but i'm wondering because i have been breastfeeding my son for two years and stopped a few days ago. Although i loss the excess hair i felt as though my hair has thinned out to half it's volume and it never went back to my pre pregnancy state. I have thinning on my scalp especially on top of my bangs and it has never changed, just a little bit of growth but it's still very noticeable so i'm wondering if it will grow more now that i have stopped. I'm 22 and sad to say i did not take any pre natal vitamins or multi vitamins until a few days ago also :SDoes breastfeeding stunt hair growth or stop hair growth?
Prenatal vitamins will not improve your hair growth and are not recommended for nursing moms because of the high levels of iron. Iron supplements are dangerous to people with normal iron levels.

Breastfeeding is not related to post-partum hair loss. However low thyroid is, and that is common after childbirth -breastfeeding or not.

    http://www.kellymom.com/bf/concerns/mom/鈥?/a>

If you feel that your hair loss is greater than the norm, or if things are not back to normal by the time your baby is 12 months old, then see your doctor. Excessive hair loss can be caused by common and easy-to-remedy postpartum conditions such as hypothyroidism (low thyroid hormone) or iron-deficiency anemia.Does breastfeeding stunt hair growth or stop hair growth?
normally breast feeding benefits a womans body for many reasons, but you have done brilliant by breastfeeding most mothers give up. it so good for humanity and can not be replicated, now your hair is down to stress, dont be stressed be proud of being a perfect, mother you done extremely well for 2 yrs moms give up after a week. when bathing dont wash your hair for a month and let oils come back in then wash only twice a week until your satisfied,..again well done
    ';it so good for humanity and can not be replicated, now your hair is down to stress, dont be stressed be proud of being a perfect, mother you done extremely well for 2 yrs moms give up after a week.';

    ';No. Breastfeeding has only benefits...It is natural such as breathing.';

I can't help but find these to answers really... creepy...

Anyway, I didn't actually know you could lose hair during pregnancy. I'm making a list of pros and cons of pregnancy and that one is going on the cons.
If you take care of your body now, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to recoup your losses. Keep taking those vitamins! Drink plenty of water, as it helps make hair healthy. In the mean time, try volumizing shampoos and conditioners. Good luck.
Go to the doctors and have your iron level checked.

Also birth control pills can do this.

    Start taking vitamins now.

Congratulations on nursing for so long. That is so good for the both of you.
i would talk to your doctor about it, because a little is ok but what you are talking about seems like more then a little
No. Breastfeeding has only benefits...It is natural such as breathing.
I have never heard of this. Are you sure your not losing hair as a result of other reasons? Have you asked your doctor?

Does hot water stop hair growth?

When I wash my hair (every other day) sometimes I condition and when I do that I leave it in then I rinse it out and for a split second use hot water than I put in my hir oil and let it air dry (I wake up early and don't wanna damage my hair with a blowdryer) everything goes well After it drys I run a comb through it (I let it dry to maximize puff) my hair looks great and everything goes well but I was reading that heat can skrew up hair growth (just makin sure)

also does this sound like a good hair care regimeneDoes hot water stop hair growth?
first of all my cousin is doing a hair dressing course and hot water doesn't cause damaged hair to maintain healthy hair though, when your in the shower use the tips of your fingers and massage your scalp, this will generate good hair growth and also keep your hair healthy its an alright hair regimene though it isnt necessary to condition your hair

Does shaving eventually stop hair growth?

I'm 16 and I've been shaving my legs since I was like 11. Like 95% of the hair on the back of my leg has stopped growing. So I just wanna know if it eventually stops hair from growing or something? Also is there an easier way to remove hair. I've tried Nair but like half the bottle's empty on the first use. Too poor and young for Laser. I heard Smooth Away doesn't work. I'm not a fan of waxing. I find plucking suitable for face hairs....I really hope instant hair removal technology is made...and becomes very cheap. Please and Thank You.Does shaving eventually stop hair growth?
your leg may have gotten fatter..no offence intended. but on the meatier parts of my legs i dont grow hair..upper thigh, back of calfs...and im not big at all. yes stay away from smooth away, a friend of mine bought it, o.m.g. her legs got blistered so bad.

I use an epilator, it takes the hair out from the root, and b/c i used to wax but heard it causes spider veins by thinning out the skin.

good luck!Does shaving eventually stop hair growth?
no it doesnt, you actually get more hair from shaving. nair shower power is good. waxing is the best though. your hair will be a lot lighter when it grows back and it takes a while to grow too.

Will constant WAXING stop hair growth?

I'm a ';hairer'; girl and I'm think of starting to wax. I already wax my upper lip and after doing it so many times... SO many, it doesn't hurt and the hair seems less?

Do you think if I start waxing my legs, arms, lower back, and stomach... everytime the hair grows... it will eventually stop growing or will take a really long time to grow back... my hair grows back REALLY fast.

I'm going to be a 17 soon, how long do you think it would take for this to happen. I'm hoping by my early 20s?Will constant WAXING stop hair growth?
i wouldn't say the hair will completely stop growing, but the hair will grow in slower and more fine, less coarse.

if you really dont want any hair there you could also try laser hair removal. hope i helpedWill constant WAXING stop hair growth?
I wax my legs, I have actually been doing it for 9 years. I can say from experience between me and my moms, that the hair does eventually stop growing. My hair has not completely stopped growing, but there are patches on my leg where no hair grows back. My mother's hair has not come back in 10 years

I think it will reduce. I've never heard of it stopping the hair growth, but I know it will definetly reduce. It won't even take that long.
Unfortunately, the only way to get hair to not grow is by laser treatments.

Continuous waxing will minimize the growth, and the pain, but if you wait long enough in between waxing it will return to the same way.

You may want to check with an aestethician, and possibly look into the laser treatments. They also have a new cream out that reduces unwanted hair. It's called - Vaniqa Cream.
Waxing isn't going to stop it completely, but after a while it won't grow back as quickly or as thick...

I mean more then likely if you did it on a weekly or even monthly basis then yes it would more then likely stunt the growth of the hair and keep it smoother longer...

It depends on the type of a hormonal imbalance condition. As for me,I went to a gynocologist because my periods were extremely irregular or even absent, and after a blood test I found out I had a very low level of progesterone, estrogene, and too much of a male sex hormone(testosterone). I have hair on my face, belly, legs,on my breasts. Well,I was put on birth control pills but I actually got more hair all over my body. Although doctors say ';it should help,it just takes time';,it doesn't make sense to me,it didn't help me.And this problem with an increased hair growth is so bothering.

    Anyway,good luck to you.

Can u stop hair growth on your body?? ( not on top of head)?

    No, not completely

    Try following link:

http://animal.kukuchew.com/wp-content/up鈥?/a>Can u stop hair growth on your body?? ( not on top of head)?
    Step 1

Try electrolysis. Electrolysis is the only permanent way to stop hair growth. A needle is inserted into an individual hair follicle to zap it with electricity. The electricity kills the follicle, preventing future hair growth. Generally, many sessions are necessary to treat an entire body area with electrolysis.

    Step 2

Get laser hair removal. During sessions, the laser's light will target dark pigmentation in hair follicles to kill their growth patterns. Laser hair removal will permanently reduce hair growth. It works best on brown or black hair. It is not effective on blond hair.

    3.

    Step 3

Consume a healthy diet. If you are poorly nourished, it can cause excess hair growth. Aim to get adequate nutrients and vitamins from fresh foods. Doing so may slow hair growth cycles slightly.

    Step 4

Take Kalo. Kalo is a natural supplement which inhibits hair growth. If taken regularly, you'll notice less hair growth on your body. Find Kalo in most health food stores.

    Step 5

Apply hair growth inhibitor lotion to your skin. These lotions contain soy extracts which slow hair growth. With regular use, you'll notice your hair grows in thinner and finer. Over time, hair growth can even stop altogether. Find hair growth inhibitor lotions in most beauty and drug stores.

    Step 6

Eat soy products. Soy contains phytoestrogen. Like estrogen, phytoestrogen helps to stunt hair growth. Consume soy daily for best results. Can u stop hair growth on your body?? ( not on top of head)?
Both men and women can experience unwanted body hair. Whether this hair is particularly dark and dense or simply in an area that you don't want any hair, there are various methods you can employ to get rid of it. In addition to hair removal methods, such as shaving and waxing, there are ways to discourage hair growth. This will allow you more time before hair removal treatments. It will also generally make the hair that does grow in that area finer and more manageable.

Well for one try using Mane N' Tail Horse Shampoo. I use it all the time and it makes your hair grow faster. You can find it at walmart in the pet section. also you should drink plenty of water to condition your hair and when shampooing and conditioning you should use cold or

luke warm water on your hair so it won't damage it. Even hot water hurts your hair.

Your hair is like a rope, unraveling-- and that's what split ends are.

The only thing you can do is to cut them off.

So, to avoid having them in the first place I'd ask a stylist (that knows what they're doing) about your particular type of hair.

thanksNeed help for stop hair growth?
Really? Are you joking, because this isn't funny?Need help for stop hair growth?
Well to stop hair growth period is very difficult. The face is probably the most embarrassing part to deal with. I would tell you to try creams and shaving. But that can be irritating. You can also consider permanent hair removal treatment- but several treatments are required before hair can be permanently removed but i don't think that procedure is 100%. Also tweezing but it can be irritating. I have tried those wax kits for the upper lip from CVS or some drug store but it just ended up riping my skin off where i had embarrassing scabs to deal with. So i would tell you that would be a no-no. There is a cream VANIQA that blocks enzymes necessary for hair growth and thins facial hair to the point its damn-near invisible. Check out the website: http://www.vaniqa.com/

Also go to a dermatologist for suggestions and further questions.

A review of the various hair removal methods is available at http://tinyurl.com/ob6tt
r u crazy???it will grow even more longer %26amp; thicker!!!
no sorry.... it is not a permenent removal method.... it may thin hair over time and some woman who have waxed consistently for 20 + years find that hair growth becomes patchy and fine.
Yes, my mom has been waxing her legs since she was 15 (she's now almost 50) and she only has hair growth in patches. It eventually just kills the hair follicle but it won't do it all over because, of course, each follicle is different. Howevever, I have never been attracted to wax because you have to wait for the hair to grow a bit before you wax again AND, if you eventually want the hair to stop growing, it will take 35+ years. I have opted for laser hair removal which is expensive in the short run but worth it!
The older you get, the more you do it, yes, the hair will stop growing , Not entirely but pretty much.
No, it wont stop hair growth.

Does regular waxing stop hair growth?

i heard it takes years of waxing for it to stop growing...Does regular waxing stop hair growth?
Yes and No. Waxing does slowly kill some hair follicles and after regular waxing yes hair grows back less and less. This is not true for everyone. Some people are just hairier than others.Does regular waxing stop hair growth?
No, it wont, but it will definitely reduce the hair growth.
No, but your hair will grow back in about 2 or 3 months.
No, but it does last longer than shaving which is a plus!
it takes years of waxing for the hairs to fully stop growing back. but you will definitely notice a difference in the pattern of hair growth, the hairs tend to grow a lot sparser, lighter in colour and thinner. try ipl if you want the hairs permanently removed
No but it definitely lessens hair regrowth.

How does bleach stop hair growth?

Well you know when you use bleach in the bathroom to strip mould off the shower tiles? Well, it is the same for your hair. If you have say, brown pigmentation in your hair, then it strips the colour to make it that really yellow colour. Because it is doing this, the harmful chemical, also known as ammonia, is killing off your roots.

That is why you see older woman walking around, who have bleached their hair since they were teenagers, with very thin hair and even bald patches. It eventually kills the roots and causes it to fall out. Without roots, hair obviously can't grow. Besides, it isn't exactly a health potion to begin with.

In other words, if your thinking of going blond, use a washout colour from someone like Loreal Paris. How does bleach stop hair growth?
Bleach does not stop hair growth. Look at how many people bleach their hair - their hair still grows %26amp; they are not balding. How does bleach stop hair growth?
because bleach is a lot of strong chemicals mixed together that literally kills your hair and make the color change.

';the pill'; referring to birth control has no definite impact on hair growth. but, since it does regulate estrogen in the body one could presume that it would help reduce growth of unwanted hair, like facial hair. on the other hand, it has been noted that if a person stops estrogen pills they are more likely to grow unwanted hair. It has no impact on the hair on the top of your head.Does the pill stop hair growth or help it?
    it does not change it.

Can u stop hair growth in certain parts of the body?

yes through electrolysis ,or laser treatment....bu they all have some effects,so think about it if u have sensitive skinCan u stop hair growth in certain parts of the body?
Get laser hair removal. Waxing is probably the longest temporary solution. Can u stop hair growth in certain parts of the body?
Nature has designed hair to grow at certain parts to serve some purpose of your good health. Don't foolishly stop the growth of those hair unless you want to invite unnecessary troubles.
    You have some options:

    1. Electrolysis--kills the hair follicle so the hair can't grow

    2. Laser treatment-same idea

    3. Waxing--painful and temporary

    4. Vaniqa cream--slows hair growth so it is gone longer, less noticable, and less. Need continuous use for it to work. Available at your dermatologist's office

    5. EpilStop--available at the drug store-removes hair temporarily, and retards future growth.

According to the American Dermatologic Association, those are your current treatment options.

    Good luck!
    yes, laser can do it!

Is there any permanent remedy for stopping hair growth in our body?

I have tried all hair removers but it keeps on growing ,i dont know what to doIs there any permanent remedy for stopping hair growth in our body?
You can go for Laser Hair removal technic but it is painful and costly. Is there any permanent remedy for stopping hair growth in our body?
hair grows, that is the nature. some doctors say it's the excess of male hormones in your body that cause this, so taking more female hormones will help BUT i personally suggest to stay away from hormones and laser solutions, just bleach them with Jolen, that is all. no pain, no harm.
You can get permanent laser hair removal treatments, but they're very expensive. It's supposedly pain free and after several goes your hair never grows back again.
hair dont fel pain in growing but they just dont stop doing this job n if u want solution of this job then 'skin surgery' is the answer!! by the why i'm also facing the same problem!!
The only permanent solution is electrolysis. However, this is a very costly procedure.
No hair will grow if you burn yourself beyond recognition.

Why do split ends stop hair growth?

They don't. This is a misleading myth. Let me explain.

Hair grows only at the very bottom of the hair root, deep in the follicle in the skin. That is the only part that is ';alive';. That is where the cells reproduce, and the build up pushes the older dead hair cells up and out of the skin and you can see it.

When hair is older, and is abused by chemicals, heat and dry air, it eventually comes apart. It gets worn down. Because the outside of the hair shaft has a thin protective layer, that is the first that comes worn off. The inside of the hair shaft is made of many tiny strands of protein... these come apart when the cuticle layer is removed. And it is like a strand of yarn that frays at the end -- it just splits into two or three sections. That is what we see as ';split ends';.

This does not stop the hair from growing. But it breaks off the ends. So you get a shorter hair shaft. The problem is that it splits up the shaft, and a piece comes off. And then more splits and more comes off, and you keep on peeling back more and more length. That is why some say their hair stops growing; that is not true -- it is only not getting longer! The hair is growing down at the root, but the ends keep breaking off. And you get no length.

You can say your hair doesn't grow on your legs -- if you keep shaving all the time. Whatever grows at the root, you cut off the other end. The length never changes, but the hair is always growing.

So if anyone wants to have longer hair, they need to repair those split ends so that the ends don't keep breaking off. Because you have done bad things to your hair over the last year before the damage shows itself, a simple quick trim is not going to do much. You need to stop the things you are doing, and you will need to keep trimming for a long time until you get your hair back into good health. But trimming is a good idea to stop the splits from continuing up the shaft. It also improves the appearance a lot! It is a temporary measure that needs to go along with better overall general care of your hair.

That takes longer to explain than it needs to be! But I hope you understand better what is going on with split ends. Why do split ends stop hair growth?

There is no way to just stop hair growth. Since you are not interested in laser hair removal then you can try using wax or hair creme remover. If you are not interested in waxing because of the pain, you can use another method called sugaring. This is very similar to waxing but painless. Is it possible to stop hair growth in places such as the back, arms, chest...etc.?
There's no way to stop hair growth except by laser removal. However if you use an electrical hair removal machine (the one that plucks the hair out, not the electrical razors), in many people it will result in hair growing less and thinner.
yupp. lazer hair removal. basically it burns your hair all the way down into your skin and gets rid of it permenintly so that i cant grow back.
    Waxing is always fun.

Not a bit. There are people on both sides of the fence that would love to make money on the idea if it were true.

If it arrested hair growth it would help the hair removal market

If it increased hair growth it would help the hair growth market

No. Foundation is not going to slow or stunt your hair growth. If it works for you, then you can continue doing it without fear of any negative side effects.
The only way this would affect your hair's growth is if the foundation or mascara clogs the pore where the hair follicle is coming out. However, that's pretty unlikely, so go right ahead and color on!

i keep having to hair removal cream my arms and lower back and stomach, i cant afford laser treatment and i wondered if there are any creams i can use that stops the haitrs coming backAre there any creams that stop hair growth?
There are some with weird chemicals in them (like Epil Stop) but I tried that and found it didn't work very well (my hair grows back really quickly) and and it was expensive to buy that on top of cream.

I switched to home waxing (messy and ouch!) but then started using an epilator (Braun 7681) which was the BEST thing for me. It pulls out the hairs from the root so they take ages to grow back and I only had to pay for it once!

I know that's not the answer to the question you asked, but I first started removing my hair with cream and an epilator is where I ended up.Are there any creams that stop hair growth?

Does not eating or strict dieting stop hair growth/make hair fall out?

    HYPOTHETICAL QUESTION. (:

Thanks%26lt;3Does not eating or strict dieting stop hair growth/make hair fall out?
It could. If you are not getting the required dose of vitamins you need it could fall out. If you are on a strict diet, then I would recommended taking a multivitamin to supply lost nutrients.Does not eating or strict dieting stop hair growth/make hair fall out?
Since your hair is mostly made of proteins, then yes it could. Make sure to eat a vitamin in the morning, and possibly more meat and eggs in your diet. Great sources of protein.
    Yes it can!

Not maintaining a healthy diet can cause many problems. it can affect hair growth, hair type and cause oil and stress. Which then again causes hair to fall out!

Strict dieting.. if your eating what your supposed to be eating... and it is strict but healthy, you should be fine. but if you dont maintain and take care of yourself it can turn on you for the worse
It definitely can. When your body is not getting the proper nutrients, your skin is the first to show these signs. Hair, skin, and nails are greatly affected by a lack of nutrients and vitamins in your system. That is why it is always good to treat your body right and eat correctly along with exercising regularly. Your bones also are greatly affected with this as well.
um...yeah! because its not getting many nutrients..
Yes it can you have to drink 10-12 glasses of water daily and have a high protein diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables and dairy products. Since iron-deficiency anemia can also cause hair loss, make sure that you eat a well-balanced diet that includes a daily serving or two of iron-rich foods. Check out

Why does cancer stop hair growth?

usually cancer patients are bald.. so i was wondering? Why does cancer stop hair growth?
The baldness is caused by the chemotherapy treatments cancer patients have to endure. Not caused by the cancer itself, just a nasty side effect of the treatment. Why does cancer stop hair growth?
its not the cancer itself, its the chemotherapy and medicines they take.

to get into more detail, chemo kills off cells that are in the middle of dividing (mitosis) so it kills dividing tumor cells and body cells.

tumor cells divide very rapidly hough so they are killed off before all the body cells are.

the reason hair falls out is because hair follicle cells also divide very rapidly and are usually killed off too.
Cancer itself doesn't stop hair growth but the medicine does. Cancer is a fast growing cell so they have things like kimotherapy stop fast growing cells in your body, but hair is also a fast growing cell and so kimotherapy and other medicines tend to stop hair growth. Hope this helps:)
    It doesn't.

Many, though not all, cancer patients have chemotherapy and many, though not all, chemotherapy regimes cause hair loss.

This is because chemotherapy chemotherapy attacks fast growing cells (because cancer cells are fast growing) and the cells in the hair follicles grow fast.

Some chemotherapy regimes cause hair thinning, some don't cause hair loss at all, but most do cause hair loss.

It's temporary, and hair will grow back when treatment has ended - in fact it often starts to grow back before treatment ends - mine did.

Radiotherapy/radiation doesn't cause hair loss unless the part of the body it is directed at has hair - that is, if it's directed at the head
Cancer does not stop hair growth. Cancer patients undergoing Chemo or Radiation Therapy typically loose their hair as a result of the treatment. Most patients will shave their head as soon as they notice hair beginning to fall out because it's easier and more hygenic than loosing a little bit at a time. It also makes it easier to wear a wig or hair piece if the person is self-concious about it.
Chemo therapy can cause it. Generally radiation will cause hair to fall out. Surgery- you can be shaved. I'm dealing with brain cancer....part of my hair was shaved (a small patch on the side of my head) during surgery. Chemo didn't cause me to lose any hair, but my radiation has. I've lost hair where the radiation goes in...a giant spot.....then I lost hair all over my head in patches and spots where the radiation would exit my brain.....I shaved my head about 4 weeks into radiation....they say it will grow back, but could be a different texture or color...we'll see!

And as a correction to another answer....radiation can cause hair loss in other parts of the body as well as the location aimed at. The beams have to exit some where just as they entered and after hitting the tumor....they disperse... kind of like aiming a water gun at an apple...once the water stream hits the apple...the water goes everywhere....except with radiation it goes through the tumor, then strays in many different directions...

Another thought....there is no radiation in chemo therapy...surgery, chemo, and radiation are a few of the options available to cancer patients
It's not the cancer, it's the treatment. Chemotherapy attacks fast dividing cells i.e. cancer cells, but other organs have a high cell turnover too - like testes and ovaries, hair follicles and skin.

edit - there is no radiation in chemotherapy. You either have chemo or radio therapy.
Most cancer patients undergo Chemotherapy to help cure/fight cancer. A side effect of Chemotherapy is hair-loss.

Chemotherapy is the use of drugs that attack fast-growing cells with a high metabolic rate, such as cancer cells, and kill them.
    It doesn't.

The radiation in chemotherapy often causes hair to thin or fall out, so many patients either end up bald or simply shave their heads to avoid the awkward patchy look.
I think it's because of the chemotheraphy medication the patients take, its a side effect of that.

Anyway, why are there thumbs down to perfectly ok answers..
The hair loss is caused by the radiation in the chemotherapy. It destroys the hair follicles causing the hair loss.
Thats from the treatment, not the cancer itself. chemotherapy is not a easy thing on the body
Cancer does that stop hair growth. Its the Keomo therapy they receive as treatment, which is radiation (radiation makes your hair fall out).
Cancer doesn't make you lose hair. It's chemotherapy, used to treat cancer, which does.
Cancer does not stop hair growth, but chemotherapy to treat cancer causes hair to fall out.
The medicine cancer patients take does that, not the cancer itself.
it's the Chemo and or radiation NOT the cancer...
It's the Chemo that makes the hair fall!
    it's the treatment

Does plucking with tweezers eventually stop hair growth?

    Hi people

Just wanted to ask does plucking with tweezers eventually stop the hair growing in that area. Thought maybe it did because you pulling out the root.

Thanks for your repliesDoes plucking with tweezers eventually stop hair growth?
Well I heavily plucked my eyebrows during the eighty's and they are much more sparse now.

    EDIT

They don't grow back I'm afraid, since posting this I ask 3 friends and they all admitted their eyebrows are a lot thinner since plucking.Does plucking with tweezers eventually stop hair growth?
it would take years and years of plucking the specific hairs for it to work as your eyebrows are what are refered to as ';terminal'; hairs which means its the naturally darker and thicker hairs which have deeper roots. other terminal hair areas are your underarms, bikini area and the hair on your head.

the hair will eventually stop growing but before that the hair will become weaker and easier to pull out. it happens the same with waxing.

you can now get a cream which will stop the hair growing back by destroying the part of the hair folicle which produces the protein to produce the hair (as far as i know you can only get it if you are a registered beauty therapist however). its expensive (about 拢40 a tube) to treat large areas as you have to use it after each time you pluck / wax and it can take 7 treatments or more(1 tube does 1 set of legs as an idea of how far it goes) and isnt painless but it beats paying for lazer removal.
Surprisingly no it doesnt, think about eyebrows it doesnt then, but if you were to wax it would make the hairs grow back thinner and then you would hardly see them, the best way to get rid of hair for good is lasor surgery.
In my experience, some of the hairs stop growing but not all of them. like my eyebrows for example, before I started tweezing i had much more hair than I get now when it grows out. but some hair still grows back.
    Yes, it happened to me!

I had thick eyebrows which I plucked constantly between the ages of 18 and 24.

Since then I pluck the occasional hair a couple of times a year!!
No the hair will just keep growing back even if you pull out the root. the only way for permant hair removal is by laser treatment!
Nope i'm afraid not. Would be good if it did. The only way discovered at the moment for permanant hair removal is by laser. The hairs will take longer to grow back though! which is a good thing

    x
no, it's just a temporary hair removal.
My mother used to pluck her eyebrows an excessive amount, and now they haven't grown back, so she's just left with extremely thin eyebrows... hah ;)
No, I wish it did though. It keeps growing just as it did before (but it doesn't come in thicker or anything).

Will bleach eventually stop hair growth?

i'm wondering because i'm tired of shaving my legs. will bleach make my leg hair fall out and never grow back again if i bleach it a lot? Will bleach eventually stop hair growth?
That will /NOT/ work, sorry i thought about it too. I do know a friends sister, that when she got pregnat she bleached her stomach hair, that worked. Anyways, I dont think it works on leg hair, try a nice waxing. Will bleach eventually stop hair growth?
Well, yeah maybe..and don't do it! It's caustic and toxic. Trust me you will eventually get old and wont have to shave anymore. For now bask in the glory of shave gel and razors!

Seriously don't use bleach, (unless really diluted), for anything other than cleaning/disinfecting.
bleach is poisonous.. it will kill skin cells and penetrate even deeper on the long run.. it will cause cancer and give you permanent damage... One of the deadliest poisons known to man is a mixture of Bleach and Vinagar.. even inhaling the fumes will kill you...
It will be harsh on your skin yes but no I dont think it will just stop growing because hairs grow in cycles.

Your best bet would be waxing/sugaring, those things will eventually make your hair grow back in smaller quantities
it would damage your skin, yes. I would just continue to shave, anyway, because it'll make your legs nice and smooooth.
NO. It will however destroy your epidermis and can cause burns. Please don't put bleach on anything but clothes.
Bleach does dry out skin and does not prevent hair from grown back. If you want hair gone for good, lazer is the answer...
t damages the skin a lot! Stop using bleach.

    I am a licensed cosmetologist. Your hair absolutely does not stop growing if you straighten it. You hair grows from the scalp out not the ends down. Now you can cause breakage if you do not use the right products to protect during heat styling....depending on your hair texture, that will look like little ';fly aways.';

Should I use Revitol Hair Removal Cream? Can it really stop hair growth? Opinions please?

I'm a bit scared to try out the product. I'm not sure if I'd be satisfied. Ive also heard that it can stop hair growth it continuously used. Is that true?

    I'd like some opinions.

Please, does anyone have any suggestions/ experiences?Should I use Revitol Hair Removal Cream? Can it really stop hair growth? Opinions please?
The only way to stop hair growth is by damaging the follicle. I have never heard of that product, but after a while it may have a burning or deforming effect on the follicles, causing them to stop the production of keratin (hair). But more than likely no, it probably won't stop hair growth all together.

If hair grows from the root then how do slit ends stop hair growth?

It doesn't. Trim at least an inch the split ends will travel up your hair strand splitting as it goes. You naturally lose 75-150 strands of hair per month. Hair grows an average of 1/2 inch per month. Warmer months more, cooler less. Age - younger grows faster, older slower. Take into account genetics, hormones, stress, diet, medication, damage to hair. Use good products not Pantene, Herbal Essence %26amp; Garnier they are silicone products. They make you hair nice at first but as the silicone builds up it locks out moisture your hair weakens %26amp; breaks. Use pro products they last longer because you use less so the extra expense is worth it. The shampoos don't contain a detergent lathering agent so it's weird at first because you are used to lather. Great specialty products are, Nioxxin, Joico K-Pak Reconstructor also Silk Results, Rusk has New Pro Elements Keratin. Big Sexy has good general products. Take Biotin %26amp; Vitamin E check it out on WebMD %26amp; GoogleIf hair grows from the root then how do slit ends stop hair growth?
split ends make hair look like the hair is not growing

basically the hair starts to split up the shaft then breaks off (breakage)If hair grows from the root then how do slit ends stop hair growth?
Split ends cause breakage. The split goes up the hair strand, which ends up breaking off.

Is there any way to stop hair growth permanently?

I started shaving my arms since 5th grade and it's getting to the point where I cant stand shaving anymore. I need a solution to stop my arm hair from growing. Is there any way to stop hair growth permanently?
Laser hair removal is arguably one of the most radical treatments to stop or slow the growth of hair. It can be performed on almost any part of the body, is relatively safe and widely available. There are some disadvantages, with the major being the cost of the procedure. Actual prices will vary depending on the amount of hair to be removed and who you choose to do the procedure. You should remember that this is a serious step and there is potential for damage to the skin so be sure to choose a reputable source for your laser hair removal.

If you decide that laser surgery is a viable option for you, check into the potential for a free consultation. Ask questions including how long the hair growth will be stopped (some don't guarantee permanent hair removal but do promise for a specific period of time).

There are literally thousands of hair removal products on the market, many touting their ability to permanently remove hair. Be sure to know about any procedures before you sign up. Ask what kind of training the person performing the procedure has had and check into testimonials from clients. In the case of a product that offers permanent hair removal, take time to read instructions, ingredients and potential hazards. If you're hoping to remove the hair from your face and a particular product sounds appealing, be sure that it's safe for use on the face.

Depending on the individual, permanent hair removal could be worth the cost and effort of one of the many permanent hair removal processes. Before you take that step, be sure that you are one of them.Is there any way to stop hair growth permanently?
yeah, electrolysis. It's really expensive though
Epilation is the process of removing unwanted hairs. There are two methods for removing hair: electrolysis and thermolysis. Both methods work well and differ mainly in the type of current used.

Electrolysis is done by inserting a thin needle into the hair follicle parallel to the hair shaft. A small amount of high-frequency electrical current is then applied to the hair. This results in the generation of heat that destroys the hair. After the current is applied the hair is removed with forceps.

    Side Effects:

A hair re growth rate of 15% - 25% can be expected. Often the hairs that grow back are smaller and less noticeable than the original hairs.

Epilation works by causing a small scar around the treated hair. In people prone to forming thick scars, the scar may be noticeable. If you tend to form thick scars you should not have this procedure done. Dark-skinned people may develop dark or white areas around the treated hairs; therefore a small test area should be done first. There is a slight risk of bacterial infection from epilation. If a treated hair becomes red or has pus, call your doctor immediately.

Epilation performed by laser was performed experimentally for about 20 years before it became commercially available in the mid 1990s. Laser and light-based methods are sometimes called phototricholysis or photoepilation.

In addition to lasers, some light-based epilators use a xenon flash lamp which emits full-spectrum intense pulsed light (IPL) . Treatment with this device is sometimes popularly referred to as laser hair removal, though the device is not a laser per se.

The primary principle behind laser hair removal is selective photothermolysis. Lasers can cause localized damage by selectively heating dark target matter in the area that causes hair growth while not heating the rest of the skin. Light is absorbed by dark objects, so laser energy can be absorbed by dark material in the skin (but with much more speed and intensity). This dark target matter, or chromophore, can be naturally-occurring or artificially introduced.

The dermal papilla is the only appropriate target of destruction, as it is the only substructure of the hair shaft which can reproduce a new root system, and therefore a new hair shaft. The dermal papilla is located at a depth of 7-8 millimeters for coarse hair, and so is beyond the reach of laser.

The laser light beam, however, does a great job of vaporizing large areas, just not permanently. Challenge your laser tech to sign a ';plain english'; money back guarantee if you want to find out for yourself.

No form of laser is capable of permanent hair removal without scarring. At most, 5% of hair in a given area can be removed which adheres to the common usage of the word ';permanent';, usually because the hair root is not very thick in diameter, or have any pigment, and is therefore within the two millimeter range of the laser.

At present it looks as though this is the closest you'll get to permanent hair removal and this may be satisfactory for you. the average cost for laser epilation is around $500.00, now this is determinent on the area to be treated and of course the number of treatments required.
Gt it lasered off, it hurts a lot. And its not inexpensive, but thats the only way I can think of.

    Good Luck!
become a hippie and let it grow. Then braid it and wear wife beaters :)

That's a weird question, but it's one that DOES make sense, unlike a lot of questions on here. But.. unfortunatley, I dunno. Sorry.
